Big JT
To launch the NFL’s first competitive game outside North America, Not Actual Size created a colossal animatronic figure based on player Jason Taylor aka the “David Beckham of American football”. Big JT – scaling 26ft, weighing more than a tonne, with moveable feet, arms, waist and eyes which also housed a digital camera so that footage from Big JT’s line of sight could be beamed live on to stadium screens – toured at five mph for a week around Trafalgar Square, Canary Wharf and Victoria Station among other iconic London spots before arriving at Wembley. He was a really big hit.
Witnessed by 1.2 million people across London, there were 500,000 tickets requested in the first 72 hours of the campaign, a 417% increase in Sky’s average viewing figures, and 150% rise in NFL UK membership.
