Motorola
SLVR

When Motorola came to us wanting a media kit for their new super slim phone we knew there was one person we had to involve. When Sam Buxton had needed a business card, rather than make “a boring printed card”, he decided to devise one which would reflect his work as a product designer. By deploying a chemical milling process he had discovered in the electronics industry, Buxton created a flat fine stainless steel card; the various parts of which unfolded into a 3-D replica of himself working at his computer.

Both phone and figure had the same message: far from flat. So we commissioned Sam Buxton to create a unique media kit for the SLVR – bringing home this message while aligning the brand with an influential designer. Media lapped up the novel design and the initiative contributed to SLVR becoming the third best selling phone that year.
